Dynamic properties of dislocations
The plastic deformation of metals is carried by the motion of dislocations. Despite their importance for high-strain rate processes like high-speed cutting, the parameters determining the motion of dislocations at high velocities are not yet fully understood. In this project we study the accelerated motion of dislocations in different fcc metals at varying temperatures and stresses as well as their interaction with obstacles.

an array of voids, highlight the importance of inertial overshooting
in dislocation - obstacle interactions.
