Next to its conventional creep testing setups, the Institute I purchased in 2012 a compact setup aimed at investigating millimeter small samples. The Netzsch TMA Hyperion 402 uses an electromagnetic actuation providing up to 3 N force and ensures a reliable measurement of the displacement with an accuracy of a few nanometers. The tests can be performed in controlled environment between -150°C and +1000°C. The setup is used to study the local creep properties of materials.
